The second title announced in January has been revealed: A Kiss For The Petals – Longing of an Angel (その花びらにくちづけを　天使のあこがれ Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Tenshi no Akogare). As noted previously, the art is credited to Aida Takanobu (会田孝信) of Kogado Studio, a visual novel company linked on Yurin Yurin’s website, and the writing credited to Madoka Madoka (円まどか), writer of Kogado Studio’s yuri visual novel White Robe Love Syndrome (白衣性恋愛症候群 Hakuisei Renai Shoukougun). However, contrary to what was been reported in the past, this title has been given the Sonohana name. Its connection to previous Fuguriya and Yurin Yurin titles is unknown.

The English translation of A Kiss For The Petals – Risa-Miya Theater (その花びらにくちづけを　りさみや劇場 Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Risa Miya Gekijou), in collaboration with Yuri Project, concludes with episode 10: Kiss Me Here. This episode takes place after Maidens of Michael and assumes that the viewer is familiar with the story of it. The series will be released on YouTube as well as on this website and Yuri Project in MKV format.

For the batch release, I have decided to re-encode the previous episodes to include additional QC from Rika-chama and Virus123 in the first five episodes, who joined the project after episode 5, as well as to correct flaws in the source material. These amended episodes will be available as a torrent and will replace the download links in the release posts.

Episodes will be collected in this YouTube playlist.

The MKV video file has two subtitle tracks – one including the English translation seen in the YouTube video, and another including the Japanese transcription on which it was based. The original videos did not have the message window from the visual novel A Kiss For The Petals – Maidens of Michael; it was encoded into the video by me. A Kiss For The Petals –
Risa’s Golden Vacation

It’s her first time being invited to Miya’s holiday villa.
Even their spring break is frisky♪

Summary:
It’s the first Golden Week since Risa and Miya started going out.
Naturally, all their classmates will be taking trips overseas, but Miya says…
“We’ll just be staying at our holiday villa like we always do,”
and although she never actually says she wants to go, Risa ends up feeling a little dejected.

However, after coming to visit Risa in her room, things take a sudden turn when out of nowhere, Miya pleads, “Won’t you come with me to our holiday villa?”
And so… Risa decides to go stay with Miya at her summer villa!
The two of them share an indulgently frisky Golden Week, full of yuri goodness♪

Information pages for major visual novel releases from Yurin Yurin and Fuguriya are now permalinked under the “Product Guide” menu item at the top of the page, starting with Maidens of Michael. In order to conserve space on the front page, effective with the next visual novel announcement, the information page for the previous release will be kept sticky for one week following the latest announcement, after which it will be removed from the top of the front page. Similarly, product release countdowns and banners in the sidebar will be kept there for at least two weeks following release.

A Kiss For The Petals – Longing of an Angel Promotional Video

Yurin Yurin has published the opening video for A Kiss For The Petals – Longing of an Angel on YouTube on 2 May 2013. The song in the video, “Darling Goona…” [sic] was previously published in Reo-ppoi Radio episode 54 and is the opening theme for this visual novel. As noted in Reo-ppoi Radio, this song was written and performed by Anzu Hana, who will have a leading role in one of two sequels planned for this year. See that post for more information.

Reo-ppoi Radio Episode 54

YouTube user momoiro koneko has uploaded Reo-ppoi Radio 54 on their channel, which was originally uploaded on Niconico on 27 April 2013. This episode was preceded by a pre-show and opens with a greeting from Miei, the voice of Kirishima Shizuku.

In this episode, Anzu Hana made a number of announcements concerning A Kiss For The Petals – Longing of an Angel.

  • Longing of an Angel is the start of an independent storyline, with two more visual novel releases planned for 2013. The visual novels with the blue logo will share medical themes and take place outside of St. Michael’s Academy for Girls.
  • Anzu Hana will voice a new character, Ishigami Satsuki, starting with the follow-up to this visual novel, which will feature a different couple. This will make her the first voice actress to voice two main characters. Satsuki’s voice is much deeper than that of Reo. Whether Satsuki will be the main protagonist or the love interest remains to be seen.
  • Anzu Hana will perform the opening themes for these visual novels. The theme for Longing of an Angel is included in its entirety in this episode at 24:43. I have embedded it below separately for convenience.

A new segment, “Is This Yuri?”, is introduced at 21:32. Listener submissions for would-be yuri scenarios are evaluated by the host.

The SHK Election for the visual of the goddess of yuri has come to a close. Multiple suggestions for the attire of the goddess were submitted and roughly sketched on. The last submission includes an overcoat and was chosen by Anzu Hana as the final appearance. A finalized illustration will be provided by Peko.

State of Localization for Yurin Yurin Products

Shortly after Yurin Yurin opened operations in July 2012, JAST entered negotiations with them to work out a license for English translations of their products. We have since learned that Yurin Yurin, while not actively opposed to the current fan translations, will not acknowledge them and would support them being used as the basis for official English releases. In light of this, we decided to wait until their approach to visual novels has been given time to prove itself in the market to press the localization talks further. (As an aside, Lovers of the Atelier is currently ranked #2 in the Moe Game Award listings for April 2013, while Maidens of Michael is holding at #6.) However, since that reply, they have not provided any further comment on the localization deal. As a last resort, on 3 April 2013, I appealed to them personally in an e-mail addressed to both Fuguriya and Yurin Yurin, which you can read below. However, I did not get any response after two weeks. We have concluded that they are no longer interested in pursuing it at this time. As such, JAST will respect their decision. Additionally, my self-imposed embargo on fan translations of Yurin Yurin’s products has ended effective immediately.

If any other company would like to restart negotiations, they are free to contact me for assistance. I have confirmed that Yurin Yurin are aware of my own desires to have their work translated for the English market, but I have not gotten any kind of response from them directly. Should any of this change, this post will be updated.
