This is an optional patch to change the style of the text box in any of Fuguriya’s visual novels. There are six different styles and 30 variants total to choose from, all derived from existing titles. Aside from the original five boxes, there are reduced styles cut to the proportions seen in Hanahira! and four levels of opacity available.
My Dear Prince, using a reduced second style (Type-2) based on the one first seen in Itoshisa no Photograph (愛しさのフォトグラフ).
Anata to Koibito Tsunagi (あなたと恋人つなぎ), using the box from Hanahira! (Type-4) at 75% opacity.
Hanahira!, using the style first seen in Amakute Otona no Torokeru Chuu (あまくておとなのとろけるちゅう) (Type-5) at 50% opacity.
Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo, using the minimal style (“Type-0″). It appears as though there is no text box, but this is actually the reduced style with an opacity of 1%. The box should be unnoticeable in most conditions.
Tenshi no Hanabira Some (天使の花びら染め), using Type-0 with no labels. The buttons will only show when the cursor is over them. A variant that does not show the Auto or Skip buttons when toggled on is also available.
All styles are interchangeable and reversible. You can apply this patch any number of times without any effects on your save files. Note that the change must be done while the game is not running.
Instructions in short: When you run the patcher, you will be asked to open a file. Choose the file named “MGD” (or “MGE” for the A Kiss For The Petals English patch) inside a game data folder.
Please do not rehost these files or link directly to them. Link to this page instead.
Version 3 (md5:
Version 3 is a code cleanup that corrects an interface bug (it was possible to proceed without choosing a style, which causes patching to fail) and updates the labels; Type-3 is now listed as used by Lily Platinum (10). No changes have been made to any of the message windows themselves. As of this release, file names will contain version numbers rather than build dates.
