On 25 January 2013, Yurin Yurin announced their second visual novel, A Kiss For The Petals – Lovers of the Atelier (その花びらにくちづけを アトリエの恋人たち Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Atelier no Koibito-tachi), by opening a teaser site. On 6 February, the website opened with a tentative information page listing a release date of 29 March 2013, a story description, three sample images, and a price of 2,625 yen. Risa and Miya are once again the primary couple and appear to be the sole focus of this installment; no other characters are seen in the currently available preview materials. The cover is reminiscent of the fourth through tenth Fuguriya visual novels, in which a couple embraces before an abstract backdrop.
Update 8 March 2013: Pre-order incentives include a size B6 pencil board and exclusive bonus prints from Sofmap, Medio, AMPnet, Stellaworth, and Toranoana. The prints from Sofmap, AMPnet, and Toranoana are based on scenes not included in the currently available sample images.
Update 3 April 2013: You can order this visual novel from Mangaoh Club, which ships internationally via EMS. The price, including tax, is 2,363 yen. See this guide for instructions for ordering from Mangaoh Club if the Google translation is insufficient and note that you must specify that you are over 18 years of age in your account information before you are allowed to add adult items to your cart.
Update 8 May 2013: A Kiss For The Petals – Lovers of the Atelier is available internationally at J-List. The price is $48.00, not including shipping.
The character information has been changed to reflect plot events since the conclusion of Maidens of Michael. It has been translated by Ralen.
The class representative of the year 2 “Snow” class, Miya is her classmate and lover.
Has an overly-serious and hardworking disposition.
She’s been trying everything in her power to break Miya of her continual habit of skipping class, but not only does she have her arguments shot down at every turn, she finds herself momentarily manipulated by lovely kisses and sweet whispers.
She actually has a strong affinity for cute things, and it seems her lover Miya is the only one to have ever been granted entrance to her unabashedly girly room.
Risa’s lover and classmate in the year 2 “Snow” class.
The smartest girl on campus, she still doesn’t socialize well with others. However, by virtue of being a member of the Best Couples, she’s begun interacting more.
Continuing to skip classes because “There’s no point in going,” she’s appropriated the atelier in the old art building and made it into her sanctuary.
She’s a fairly big eater, and furthermore she appears to be swiping Risa’s belongings for the purposes of a collection.
The story is as follows, also translated by Ralen.
The dust has settled from the boisterous Best Couple’s events, the graduation ceremony of the third-year students has passed without incident, and Risa has returned to her laid-back daily lifestyle.
Although Miya continues to flaunt her chronic truancy in Risa’s face, now that the two are passionate lovers, their days are full of joy.
Today, once again, they find themselves passing the time in the attic of the old school building, in the secret atelier known only to them as has become their habit.
The overly-serious Risa is feeling a slight twinge of guilt at their appropriation of this room. She asks Miya to tell her the story of how she discovered this place, but in this atelier hides a sweet, sweet romance that Risa couldn’t begin to imagine…
Yurin Yurin appears to be pursuing a long-term story with Risa and Miya by starting their plot in the first year and following up with the start of their second year. It is not known if any previous characters will make cameo appearances or to what degree they will affect the story. The price of this visual novel, a fraction of that of the previous release, indicates that there will be less emphasis on the other characters in any case.
