The cover of the December 2014 of Dengeki Hime contains the names of two visual novels to be released by St. Michael Girls’ School: A Kiss For The Petals – The New Generation! (その花びらにくちづけを にゅーじぇね!Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Nyuu Jene!) and A Kiss For The Petals – For Old Times’ Sake (その花びらにくちづけを 出逢った頃の思い出に Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Deatta Koro no Omoide ni, lit. “For a recollection of the time we met”).

Dengeki Hime interviewed the series producer Mi Kara Deta Saba, Angels series writer Madoka Madoka, series artist Peko, and Anzu Hana. The topics covered the motivation for opening a new company, upcoming releases, and the six new characters. The questions and answers have been translated by Ralen.

Mi Kara Deta Saba, producer

“What was the motivation behind starting a new brand?”
Although A Kiss For The Petals was originally a product of the doujin circle Fuguriya, it was the desire to create a brand that would remove the boundaries between the commercial and doujin sides of things, and bring them even closer together, that resulted in this.

“Tell us more about the concept for this brand.”
As always, the concept is yuri goodness, but this time we wanted to deliver a sweeter kind of yuri love that would bring a smile to your lips.

“We hope this new launch is given the enthusiasm it deserves.”
The girls of St. Michael’s are going to keep on bringing you their yuri lovelives. With several new couples coming into the spotlight, this new series promises to up the yuri factor even more, so be on the lookout for it!

“What was the motivation behind [Yuririn]*?”
Cycling is lots of fun, and it’s a great way to lose weight. I personally lost over 20kg (44 pounds), and I’m always looking to spread the word about how much fun it is, so with that in mind, I thought… “Oh, What if the girls of St. Michael’s started cycling to lose weight?” And that was basically how the whole thing started (laugh). We’re going to start with written content on the official site around the end of October. After that we’re planning to turn it into a fully-voiced game, so be on the lookout!

Yuririn (ゆりりん) is an upcoming internet series featuring the St. Michael Girls’ High School Bicycle Club. Information about it is pending translation.

Madoka Madoka, writer, The New Generation!

“What was the concept for this brand?”
The love between refined ladies and common folk…? I guess.

“If you were to assign a love-themed catchphrase to each of the three couples, what would they be?”
For Aya and Ai, ‘We started life as one.’ …Twins searching for their missing half.
For Nagisa and Rina, ‘Love is blind.’ …The past and future spent with you is what gives my life meaning.
For Hazuki and Manami, ‘Curiosity killed the cat.’ …A fateful love, where getting too close just to satisfy her curiosity brought about her downfall.

“Please leave the readers with a message.”
As a writer, I’m often stressed over whether something will be accepted or not, but this time my goal was just to enjoy the ride and not think about it too hard. Please just ignore the characters’ ages (laugh).

Peko, artist

“Tell us about the moe points of [For Old Times’ Sake].”
This will be a story that shows Risa and Miya’s first encounter. The moe points this time are going to be scenes where they have confusing, less-than-romantic feelings for one another as they both come to be aware of each other, so you should definitely look forward to that.

“Please leave the fans with a message.”
We’re hoping to deliver the same yuri-filled sexy girls’ love you’ve become accustomed to, so please check it out!

Anzu Hana

“Tell us your favorite parts of the new album [Songworks].”
The tracks are arranged in the order they were written, so I think it would be great if you could replay the album of your memories while reflecting on the series up to this point. One new track is also a rock arrangement of the popular background music [12:13 of Reo-ppoi Radio episode 82], so I hope you’ll listen and think, “So this is what they did with it!” as you hear the new parts, while still enjoying the familiar melody.

  1. Interesting. A sweeter kind of Yuri? So they admit that the sweetness was not all there with some of the previous ones? Considering it’s classified as a nukige.
