On 30 October 2014, the website for St. Michael Girls’ School, the new brand dedicated to A Kiss For The Petals / Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo, launched at http://mikajyo.pink. The site fully opened on 5 December 2014.

At the time of the teaser launch, four images and information about their new Twitter account, @mikajyo_info, were published.  The December 2014 issue of Dengeki Hime includes interview questions and information about four releases:

At present, the website contains information for the latter two releases. The website is worksafe and contains no information for the two new visual novels. The below images were released in the teaser site and are currently only visible in the Twitter Follower Campaign page.

Fostering Good Wives and Wise Mothers
Founded near the end of the Meiji era for the upbringing of young ladies of nobility, the curriculum at Saint Michael, which, being grounded in the spirit of Catholicism is enriched by the values of “faith, hope, and devotion,” aims at raising women who possess a balance of sense and sensibility.

Michael the Homemaker
In the tradition of raising “good wives and good mothers,” emphasis is placed on instruction and practical experience in the domestic sciences.
In addition to the fundamentals like cooking and sewing, things like making soap from used cooking oil and cutting children’s hair (the “mama cut”) are also covered.

Unusually for new website launches, detailed instructions are provided for registering a Twitter account and following @mikajyo_info, as part of a Twitter Follower Campaign. This page includes promotional images for use as wallpapers and social media profile pictures. A number of follower milestones were listed, along with incentives, most of which were fulfilled within days of the account’s opening.

    This incentive is named “ユリノススメ Yuri no susume” and appears to be a reference to the manga and anime series Encouragement of Climb (ヤマノススメ Yama no Susume).

  • 8,787 followers: A coupon for Reo-sama to do any one thing Mai asks of her, no matter what it is (Reached 5 November 2014)
    The number 8,787 can be read in Japanese as “Hana Hana”. This is a form of goroawase, the use of alternate readings of numbers to form mnemonics.
  • 10,000 followers: A coupon for Risa to do any one thing Miya asks of her, no matter what it is (Reached 11 November 2014)
  • 15,000 followers: Creation of an official cosplay outfit
  • 50,000 followers: New anime production
  • 60,785,868 followers: Expansion of the St. Michael campus

The last milestone is the follower count of the most followed Twitter account, plus one.

The obvious point of attention is the new anime at 50,000 followers. Anzu Hana (@anjyuhanyan) has joined them in appealing to followers around the world to contribute to the cause. She posted machine translations in Chinese, Korean, French, and English. Shortly after, fans provided proper translations.

Hana made a request to me personally for a revised English translation. Afterward, I asked followers to translate my post and submit them to her.

However, given the patterns for Twitter accounts for anime programs, this total will likely be reached beyond a reasonable span of time. For example, @yurinyurin_soft currently has 4,803 followers, and the average anime account has about 5,000 followers.

Dengeki Hime interviewed the staff of St. Michael Girls’ School for their December 2014 issue. Their answers to questions about the opening of a new company are reproduced below.

“What was the motivation behind starting a new brand?”
Mi Kara Deta Saba, producer: Although A Kiss For The Petals was originally a product of the doujin circle Fuguriya, it was the desire to create a brand that would remove the boundaries between the commercial and doujin sides of things, and bring them even closer together, that resulted in this.

“Tell us more about the concept for this brand.”
As always, the concept is yuri goodness, but this time we wanted to deliver a sweeter kind of yuri love that would bring a smile to your lips.

“We hope this new launch is given the enthusiasm it deserves.”
The girls of St. Michael’s are going to keep on bringing you their yuri lovelives. With several new couples coming into the spotlight, this new series promises to up the yuri factor even more, so be on the lookout for it!

“What was the concept for this brand?”
Madoka Madoka, writer, The New Generation!: The love between refined ladies and common folk…? I guess.

Further information about this new company’s releases, including how the other characters will feature and the fate of Yurin Yurin (which has not updated since April 2014), is pending expansion of the St. Michael Girls’ School website.     I think it is still realistic but it seems to take a long time, for example twitter anime yuri such as Sakura Trick can reach 26.000 followers and YuruYuri reach 71.000 followers.

    I’ve become a follower and pray that target of 50.000 followers can reached ^^

    I can’t for the release date of these new games, all the girls looks so cute (specially the twincest one), anyway I hope they reach 50K soon a RiMiya anime/OVA would make my entire year.
