The New Generation! Demo and Pre-Orders Available

A Kiss For The Petals – The New Generation! is now available for pre-order from MangaGamer. A demo version for Windows, macOS, and Linux is also available at the official website, which includes a portion of the main story and excerpts from one love scene for each couple. The short story series White Lily Memorial is also readable on the official website.

Contrary to the original 2015 version and promotional screenshots prior to today, the version by MangaGamer is presented at a resolution of 1600 x 1200, four times the 800 x 600 resolution of past A Kiss For The Petals visual novels. The difference in resolution can be seen below. Click on the images to view them at full size.

Late in development, I made a proposal to preserve the original size of the artwork for our version. To my surprise, St. Michael Girls’ School gave their approval. This new version is the result of extensive work on my part to reprocess the graphic assets and rewrite the interface code to support the new maximum resolution. Further details will be provided in a later post.

This version also adds several new features:

  • A configurable Climax Timer that counts down to the end of a love scene
  • Optional text pause on CG
  • Adjustable text box opacity, text shadow, and outline

These can be configured in the Config menu.

A Kiss For The Petals – The New Generation! will go on sale on 25 November 2016 at MangaGamer.com for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

  1. Great work, Craig! Two thumbs up!

I’m really looking forward to seeing the unscaled artwork! Thanks so much again for your extra work on this project. Your love for the SonoHana series really shines through (not that it doesn’t already)!

I pre-ordered the game within minutes of your post, and I am eagerly waiting for the 25th of November to hit. 🙂

    Many thanks for the alert!
